Radian typeface

By definition, geometric typefaces take shape from the most basic of forms; squares, circles and triangles. Though ironically, geometric typefaces rarely stick to a grid of actual circles and squares – it takes visual adjustment to make the letters appear natural and balanced. Such adjustments appear even in the most geometric of typefaces.

Radian was initiated as mere experiments with the quirks that appear in letters that stick to a grid of basic forms. Since its start,
it has evolved into it’s own characteristics as a contemporary geometric typeface.

Retten i Hillerød

The first version of Radian was completed for an interior graphics and signage project at Retten i Hillerød / Hillerød Courthouse (with Rune Bering Sørensen). Contrasting the very simple, plain architecture of the courthouse – we created a series of wall graphics that taps into the classic, decorated architecture, commonly associated with courthouses.
